A post from the son of Wilfredo Gómez—the 69-year-old Puerto Rican legend, three-weight former world champion, and International Boxing Hall of Famer—is circulating, asking people to join in prayer for his health.
“Hello everyone—fans, friends, and family. Please include ‘Papá Bazooka’ in your prayers for a speedy recovery. Blessings to all. Thank you,” wrote Wilfredo Gómez Jr. on Facebook, without providing further details or information regarding his father’s health status.
Gómez has been dealing with health complications and brain damage for several years.
In recent months, various images of Gómez have surfaced, mostly showing him seated at home while receiving visitors.
