There’s a reason the F-Series has been America’s best-selling truck for 48 years straight, according to Ford. The 2026 Ford F-150 keeps the formula that made it a Minnesota favorite: lots of engine choices, serious towing and a cab that works as hard as an office. Here’s what you need to know about the 2026 F-150 (the electric F-150 Lightning is a separate model and not covered here).
What’s New for 2026
The 2026 F-150 is still part of the 14th generation that launched for 2021, so changes are small. Edmunds calls them “minor changes to feature availability.” Ford lists these updates:
- The PowerBoost full hybrid V6 is available on more trim levels.
- A new available Ford Connectivity Package (Wi-Fi and apps, one year included with activation).
- A new STX Lobo Package with a lowered rear suspension, gloss black 22-inch wheels and the 5.0L V8.
- New XLT Chrome Appearance and Platinum Satin appearance packages.

Trims
Ford offers eight trims for 2026: XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, King Ranch, Platinum and Raptor. Car and Driver notes that King Ranch and Platinum have largely the same equipment, with the difference mostly in styling. Tremor (and the FX4 package) adds off-road upgrades like trail-tuned suspension, all-terrain tires and skid plates.

Engines and Powertrains
Every gas F-150 uses a 10-speed automatic, with rear- or four-wheel drive. Ford and MotorTrend list these engines:
- 2.7L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6: 325 hp, 400 lb-ft.
- 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6: 500 lb-ft. This is the one for max towing.
- 5.0L V8: 400 hp, 410 lb-ft.
- 3.5L PowerBoost full hybrid V6: 570+ lb-ft. Ford quotes 420 to 430 hp depending on the source page. It can power tools and gear through Ford’s available Pro Power Onboard system, up to 7.2 kW. Edmunds measured 0–60 mph in 5.8 seconds in a PowerBoost test truck.
- Raptor: a high-output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 with 450 hp and 510 lb-ft.

Towing and Payload
- Max towing: 13,500 lbs with the 3.5L EcoBoost, the Tow/Haul Package and the Max Tow Axle upgrade, when properly equipped (Ford, Car and Driver).
- Max payload: more than 2,400 lbs when properly equipped. Ford lists 2,440 lbs.
Real numbers depend on cab, bed, axle, options and passengers. Always check the label on your truck’s door jamb.

Tech
- Available BlueCruise hands-free driving assist (Edmunds, Ford).
- Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which lets you steer a trailer in reverse with a knob (Edmunds, Ford).
- A 12-inch center screen with SYNC 4 on XLT and up (Ford).
Price
The 2026 F-150 starts at about $40,000 MSRP for the base XL. Ford lists $39,585 and Car and Driver lists $40,085. Higher trims climb well past that, with the Raptor at the top. Prices are manufacturer’s suggested retail prices, don’t include taxes, fees or dealer charges, and may change. Check with a dealer for current pricing.
