Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua is projected to generate a staggering $34 million live gate, a figure that would knock Mike Tyson’s fight with Jake Paul out of boxing’s all-time top ten and place the British heavyweight showdown among the richest in history.

Dana White revealed the estimate ahead of the December 11 clash at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, where approximately 80,000 tickets sold out within an hour of going on general sale.

Demand was extraordinary, with more than 500,000 people joining the online queue as fans scrambled for seats to witness two former heavyweight champions finally meet.

Fury vs Joshua $34M Gate

Speaking to Sky Sports, White predicted that Fury vs. Joshua would become the highest-grossing boxing event ever staged in Britain.

“I don’t want to mis-speak here but we have this thing scaled for around $34 million,” White said.

If the final gate reaches that estimate, Fury vs. Joshua would move into fourth place on the ranking below, behind three events involving Floyd Mayweather or Canelo Alvarez.

Mayweather’s 2015 victory over Manny Pacquiao remains the benchmark at $72.2 million, followed by his 2017 crossover fight with Conor McGregor at $55.4 million.

Canelo’s 2025 showdown with Terence Crawford generated approximately $47.2 million, leaving Fury vs. Joshua on course to become the fourth-highest-grossing boxing gate on that ranking.

That would put the British heavyweights ahead of both Canelo vs. Gennady Golovkin fights, Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia and Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Drops Out

The projected $34 million gate would also have consequences for Mike Tyson’s controversial November 2024 return against Jake Paul.

Their fight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington generated an officially reported live gate of $18,117,072, earning a place among boxing’s ten biggest gates on the historical ranking.

However, Fury vs. Joshua reaching White’s estimate would push Tyson vs. Paul down to eleventh on that list.

White’s figure remains a projection, with the final revenue yet to be officially confirmed.

Nevertheless, the early ticket demand suggests the Cardiff event is already on course to rewrite British boxing’s financial records.

Tickets Sell Out in One Hour

Tickets went on general sale on October 9, with advertised prices ranging from £88.50 to £13,128, including booking fees.

Some of the cheapest pitch seats started at £345, while other floor seats were priced between £700 and £900.

The approximately 80,000-seat allocation sold out within an hour.

Fury and Joshua will finally settle their long-running heavyweight rivalry in Wales on December 11, with ring walks expected in the early hours of December 12 to accommodate international viewers watching on Netflix.

The fight has taken longer than expected to materialize, but the ticket demand suggests public interest has survived the delays.

If White’s $34 million projection holds, Fury vs. Joshua would smash the British boxing gate record and take its place among the four richest live gates on the historical ranking.
