Even having Terence Crawford’s longtime trainer Brian “BoMac” McIntyre in his corner could not prevent Muhammad Ali’s grandson Nico Ali Walsh from suffering his third professional defeat.

Ali Walsh lost an eight-round unanimous decision to undefeated Treavon Craycraft at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas, on October 10.

The result dropped his record to 12-3-1 with five knockouts, while Craycraft improved to 10-0-1. All three judges favored Craycraft by scores of 78-74 and 77-75 twice.

McIntyre, who guided Crawford to undisputed championships in multiple divisions, was in Ali Walsh’s corner for the eight-round contest.

The defeat comes after speculation that Ali Walsh could join Zuffa Boxing following his decision to back proposed changes to legislation carrying his grandfather’s name.

Although no deal was confirmed, another loss has weakened the sporting case for a potential move to Dana White’s organization.

Ali Walsh Responds to Defeat

Following the setback, the 26-year-old shared a message about his boxing journey and the legacy he hopes to leave behind.

“Every war, every scar, every trial of this journey is shaping a legacy that will outlive me. God has written my story. Every step is cementing my legacy in this life.”

Ali Walsh suffered his first professional defeat against Sona Akale in August 2023 before losing to Juan Carlos Guerra in February 2025.

A majority draw with Kittisak Klinson in Manila followed later that year before he returned to winning ways.

The latest defeat leaves Ali Walsh facing another rebuilding period, with three losses and a draw now on his record.

Zuffa Questions Remain

World Boxing News previously reported on Ali Walsh’s controversial decision to support the revised Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act after initially opposing the proposals.

The fighter worked with lawmakers on changes involving financial transparency, shorter contracts and additional protections for boxers.

Senator Ted Cruz acknowledged his involvement when the revised legislation advanced through the Senate Commerce Committee in September.

Ali Walsh defended his reversal, insisting the changes justified his support.

“I really do think it’ll be good for boxing as long as it protects the fighters, which now I believe it does,” he told Fight Hub TV.

His involvement fueled speculation about a potential Zuffa contract, although Ali Walsh denied receiving any incentive to change his position.

There is no confirmation that Zuffa offered him a deal or that any agreement was reached.

With his latest defeat, Ali Walsh faces an uncertain future in the ring, regardless of whether Dana White’s organization remains interested.
