The Octagon returns to the province of Alberta for tonight’s UFC Edmonton event, a 13-bout fight card headlined by Joaquin Buckley vs. Mike Malott.

Buckley (21-8 MMA) will enter this evening’s welterweight main event with hopes of snapping a two-fight losing skid. ‘New Mansa’ is coming off back-to-back unanimous decision losses to Sean Brady and Kamaru Usman respectively. Prior to those setbacks, Buckley had strung together six straight wins, an impressive stretch which included stoppage wins over Colby Covington and Stephen Thompson.

Meanwhile, Mike Malott (14-2-1 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since retiring Gilbert Burns with a third-round TKO victory at UFC Winnipeg this past April. ‘Proper’ currently boasts a four-fight winning streak, which includes Octagon victories over Kevin Holland and Charles Radtke.

UFC Edmonton is co-headlined by a women’s flyweight bout pitting Erin Blanchfield against Jasmine Jasudavicius.

Blanchfield (14-2 MMA) will enter the contest on a two-fight winning streak, with her latest victory coming by submission against Tracy Cortez 11 months ago at UFC 322. ‘Cold Blooded’ has gone 4-1 over her previous five Octagon appearances overall, with her lone loss in that time coming to Manon Fiorot.

Meanwhile, Jasmine Jasudavicius (15-4 MMA) was most previously seen in action this past April at UFC Winnipeg, where she earned a unanimous decision victory over Karine Silva. The Canadian has gone 4-1 over her past five fights, with her lone loss in that time coming to Manon Fiorot.

Also featured on tonight’s UFC Edmonton main card lineup is a highly anticipated lightweight bout between Kyle Nelson and Cristian Pérez.

Nelson (17-7-1 MMA) will enter the contest looking to rebound, this after suffering a 24-second knockout loss to Terrance McKinney this past March. Prior to that setback, ‘The Monster‘ was coming off a unanimous decision victory over Matt Frevola.

Meanwhile, Cristian Pérez (15-2 MMA) will be making his Octagon debut tonight in Edmonton, this after an impressive showing on Dana White’s Contender Series this past August. ‘Puas’ is coming off back-to-back TKO victories over opponents Logan Paxton and Gilberto Santos.
