Friday, October 16 is a big day for new albums. Rock, country, electronic and indie all have something landing. Here are five releases StarShot.Rocks thinks belong at the top of your playlist this week.
1. Seven No 6 – “Choose Love”
We start close to home. Seven No 6 is a solo project with a warm, hopeful sound, and “Choose Love” says what it means right in the title. Watch the official video, work through the full Seven No 6 playlist, and find more on the Seven No 6 page here on StarShot.
2. Fontaines D.C. – Dopamine Chamber
The Irish band’s fifth album is out October 16 on XL Recordings. It follows 2024’s Romance, and the band previewed it with the singles “Marianne” and “Tongue.” Tour plans are already huge, so read our Fontaines D.C. spotlight for every date.
3. Zach Bryan – Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs
Zach Bryan is back on October 16 with a new full-length on Warner Records. The title alone has fans talking. Expect raw, story-driven songwriting from one of the biggest names in country and Americana right now.
4. The Avalanches – No Bad Memories
The Australian sample wizards return on October 16. Any new Avalanches record is an event, because nobody else stitches together hundreds of tiny sounds into songs that feel this joyful. Put on headphones for this one.
5. Eels – Cookie Happened
Also out October 16, the latest from Eels brings more of the band’s mix of heartbreak and dark humor. Longtime fans know there’s always something sweet hiding under the gloom.
