Two of Puerto Rico’s top prospects Juliam “Julito” Ortiz and Yandiel “Chinito” Lozano have signed long-term agreements with Salita Promotions and Universal Promotions in the latest top-tier signing by the entities on the boxing rich island. Ortiz and Lozano will make their promotional debuts on Saturday, Dec. 5 live on Wynn Records Network from Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon.
The Wynn Records Network broadcast begins at 8 p.m. ET and is headlined by a showdown between Litzy Vazquez and Stephanie Piñeiro for the WBC and WBA Super Lightweight World Championships vacated by retired future Hall of Famer Katie Taylor.
Five-time Puerto Rican National Champion Ortiz and two-time Puerto Rican National Champion Lozano join a growing roster of the island’s top talent, alongside the recent signings of Henry “Moncho” Lebron, Caleb Tirado, Ángel “El Mensajero” Carranza, Jose Nieves and William “Yeyo” Colon, who have all appeared on Wynn Records Network in 2026.
Juliam “Julito” Ortiz will make his professional debut as a lightweight on Dec. 5 after a stellar amateur career in which he won 64 fights against seven defeats and won the Bronze Medal at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. The 5-foot-11 southpaw from Bayamon was also a five-time Puerto Rico National Champion, Olympic Cup Champion, and Puerto Rico Games Champion.
“I’m extremely happy and grateful for this opportunity to take such an important step in my professional career by signing with Universal Promotions alongside Salita Promotions,” Ortiz said. “I want to thank my entire team, especially my trainer, Emilio Lozada, and my manager, Ricardo Figueroa of Real Fighters, for their trust, support, and for being such an important part of this journey.
“I’m incredibly excited and motivated to make my professional debut on Dec. 5 at a major boxing event at the Rubén Rodríguez Coliseum in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. This is only the beginning. I’m ready to represent Puerto Rico, step into the ring, and show the world all the hard work, sacrifice, and dedication that have gone into making this dream a reality. The journey starts now.”
Top featherweight prospect Yandiel “Chinito” Lozano (4-0, 1 KOs) was also a standout amateur, compiling a 119-9 record and capturing a Silver Medal at the 2024 IBA World Youth Championships. Prior to turning professional, the 5-foot-6 product of Caguas was a two-time Puerto Rican National Champion, Florida Junior Silver Gloves champion, four-time champion of the Bert Sugar Tournament, Roy Jones Tournament Champion, and a two-time Scholastic Games Champion. He turned professional in July of 2025 and looks forward to fighting on major cards and staying active as he climbs the featherweight rankings.
“I’m truly grateful to God and to my family, who have always been my team, my support system, and a huge part of this journey,” Lozano said. Today marks another special chapter in my career, and I’m incredibly proud to sign with two extraordinary companies, Universal Promotions and Salita Promotions. This opportunity means a lot to me because I’ll be back in the ring, competing at the highest level, while also fighting on major stages closer to my people, the people who have watched me grow, develop, and dedicate myself to this sport over the years”
“I still have a lot to accomplish, and I know I have the right team behind me to make it happen. I want to thank Universal Promotions and Salita Promotions for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I also want to thank my management company, Precision Power Boxing, and Mr. Gómez, for their trust, guidance, and for helping make this next chapter possible”
“On December 5th, I’ll step into the ring as part of a great night of boxing featuring some of the best fighters and biggest fights. I’ve watched many of these fighters throughout the years, and some of them have also watched me grow in this sport. You’re going to see the best version of Chinito. I’ve worked hard for this moment, and I’m ready to show the world the skills, heart, and dedication that I’ve continued to develop throughout the years. We’re already preparing for Dec. 5, and I’m ready to give my people here at home, and boxing fans around the world, a great show. This is only the beginning.”
